Interlock is PowerUP's guard. It sits between our home-battery fleet's software and the batteries. Every order from our optimizer, a market bid or a utility event passes ordered checks: schema validation, authentication, replay protection, primacy, each home's backup reserve, rated power, hosting capacity (no backfeed onto a de-energized line), then staged rollout. Each check answers on the gentlest rung that keeps the rules, and Interlock can only shrink, slow or stop an order. It never counts a quiet battery as capacity. This page replays an ordinary trading evening on the RAR8848 pilot: Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the evening before SCE cut power to Cuthbert (Thursday, about 4 PM) and the Bryson Fire started. In the pilot, PowerUP holds these batteries full from that morning; here the evening is replayed as ordinary trading, to test the guard on its own. Only the pilot branch is in it: the 456 homes behind SCE switch RAR8848 on the Cuthbert circuit (Latigo substation, Malibu), 189 of them with batteries in our fleet (our 160 free Base Core batteries plus 29 home-owned, 16 Medical Baseline homes). Loads follow Cuthbert's real October profile, scaled to the branch; prices are SCE time-of-use; the fleet, the eleven failures and the one SCE event are simulated. Guard off against guard on. The shutoff itself is the main demo, on the pilot page.

The ordinary-day use: before we ship a new dispatch policy to our fleet, we replay a hard evening against the guard and see what the policy earns and which promises it breaks.
